Clarine's Florentines are a hand made elegant cookie that people crave and never forget!

Clarine's Florentines are made of natural sliced almonds which are mixed into a butter, honey, sugar and cream mixture and then baked until bubbly to produce a golden brown brittle. After cooling, the base is coated with a 72% Guittard bittersweet chocolate.

Our Story

“The florentines are something my mom and I made since I was little. I always helped her in the kitchen, and we always got such a good response on them.”

Clarine Hardesty has always had food at the heart of her upbringing. Her grandmother had a bakery in Indonesia, and her mother loved to bake florentines every year for the holidays. In college, Clarine studied abroad in Florence, Italy, where she first dreamed of launching a food business. Back stateside, she became a teacher, but when she moved from San Francisco out to the suburbs the commute became too much. Inspired by her entrepreneur father, she decided to make her mother’s florentines, first working part-time out of a local bakery’s kitchen during the off hours and ultimately investing in a bigger facility in Berkeley. Today, Clarine’s cookies are sold around the Bay Area and in one store in Los Angeles.
